..and now for some...
Wisdoms
As we have mentioned previously, we don't profess to be parenting experts or child whisperers. What we share below describes our thought processes and what we have learnt from other parents which infomed us when choosing products for our own children. We hope you find the information useful and supports your own decision making.

Playmats
The thickness of the mat is important. You can always count on babies falling over on the mat and hitting their head (we have timber floors in most of our house so we needed a solution to protect our babies). As such, having a mat of at least 1.5 cm thickness will help protect their fragile heads. While no amount of cushioning will ever replace not falling over, or supervision to minimise the chance of our babies falling over in the first place, we are never going to be able to prevent every little accident so picking a thicker mat was our way of adding a level of protection.

Placemats
It is common for our babies to spill their food during meal times, as such, having a placemat that has an anti-overflow edge meant that most of the food will not spill over onto the table and will remain on the placemat, making the cleaning process much easier.

Our placemats are made from food-grade silicone, and has an anti-overflow design.
Bibs
What we found is that the angle of the catcher pocket and the size of the catcher pocket on a silicone bib is very important. If the catcher pocket doesn’t protrude far enough, much of the food and drink that our babies drop will miss the catcher pocket completely and end up on their lap anyway. Similarly, if the catcher pocket isn’t big enough or wide enough, food and drink will also miss being caught by the catcher pocket.

Our bibs are made from food-grade silicone, with a catcher pocket that protrudes far enough and is wide enough to catch more of the food that babies may potentially drop.
